Review

Read a detailed review of each tire if you are still hesitating which option you should choose.

The Scorpion Verde is Pirelli's Street/Sport Truck Summer tire developed for the drivers of crossover and sport utility vehicles looking to reduce their vehicle's impact on the environment, without forsaking its performance. Scorpion Verde tires are used for Original Equipment (O.E.) fitments, beginning with the Porsche Macan in America. Scorpion Verde tires, like all summer tires, are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. Therefore Pirelli's warranty does not cover summer tires that develop compound cracking due to use in ambient temperatures below 45° Fahrenheit (7° Celsius).

The Scorpion Verde's unique combination of qualities have been made possible by Pirelli's Green Performance approach to developing tires offering a synergy of driving pleasure, performance, safety and respect of the environment. The Pirelli Ecoimpact icons on the sidewalls of Scorpion Verde tires highlight their contribution to the environment with regards to energy efficiency, clean air, low noise and long wear.

Scorpion Verde tires use a balanced silica ratio low rolling resistance tread compound that features technologically advanced polymers to increase grip on wet and dry roads while it reduces vehicle fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. This compound is molded into an asymmetric tread design that promotes even wear, improves ride comfort and reduces noise levels. A robust shoulder and continuous ribs on the outboard portion of the tire enhance lateral grip on dry roads while four circumferential channels promote efficient expulsion of water from the contact patch to promote hydroplaning resistance and wet traction.

The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by nylon cap plies to provide high speed-durability.

Note: Scorpion Verde tires are designed and produced using eco-focused manufacturing methods and feature low rolling resistance (LRR) compounds and constructions to enhance the vehicle fuel economy of their Original Equipment applications. These tires are identified as such with Pirelli's Ecoimpact designation on their Sizes and Specs pages.

Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season light truck tires are for drivers who want a combination of sophisticated low-profile tires/large rim diameter wheels to enhance their vehicle's appearance with all-season versatility, including traction in light snow. Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tires branded with the M+S symbol are sometimes used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on 2WD and 4WD light- and medium-duty crossover and sport utility vehicles.

O.E. Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season light truck tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle's original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tires' performance category and specifications.

Treadwear Performance

N/A
N/A

Treadwear is vital to many things, not just how often the tires need replacement. Hydroplaning and wet weather are both critical factors that wear down your tire quickly. The warranty covers any defects in what you bought but only for a limited period or when there's minimal tread left on them.

Wet Perfomance

N/A
N/A

The wet performance score is a new thing that tire manufacturers are trying to achieve. The hydroplaning resistance, wet traction, and steering response all influence this new grading system.

Dry Perfomance

N/A
N/A

Tires with good dry performance should be able to perform smoothly and safely, even when cornering aggressively.

Comfort Perfomance

N/A
N/A

The comfort performance score is designed to measure the balance between ride quality and noise level.

Winter Performance

N/A
N/A

Winter Performance score helps us understand if the tire is the appropriate option for winter conditions that your vehicle will face. Dedicated winter tires provide a firm grip when driving through snow and on ice. Performance winter tires boast a higher speed rating and better handling but deliver modestly lower ice and snow traction.

Size
i

Tire size may be indicated in two formats:
– metric (P255/45R18 103H)
– high flotation (30x9.5 R15 104 F C)
In the metric system, P - stands for the passenger vehicles (LT - for Light Trucks, ST - Special Trailer) with a width of 255 millimeters, aspect ratio (sidewall height) equal to 45% of the tire height. R means it is radially constructed with a diameter of 18 inches. 103 denotes the tire's load index and H determines the speed rating.
In the high flotation system, the first number (30) is the overall diameter of the tire, the second number (9.5) is the width in inches.

Max. load
i

The maximum weight that a tire can carry is the greatest amount of weight it's designed to bear. Because load carrying capability is dependent on a tire's size and construction, as well as how much air pressure is actually utilized, maximum loads are measured with the tire inflated to an industry standard inflation pressure.

103 (1929 lbs)
104 (2000 lbs)
Max. speed
i

The maximum speed that a tire with this type of tread can safely travel for an extended amount of time is indicated by the tire speed rating, which is usually shown by a letter or two.

The highest "cold" inflation pressure that a tire is meant to contain is its maximum inflation pressure.

The tire weight is determined by the type and size of the tire. As the tread depth of the tire wears down over time, so does its weight.
