The Latitude Sport 3 (third-generation Latitude on-road SUV tire) is Michelin's Street/Sport Truck Summer tire developed as Original Equipment for high performance SUVs and crossovers such as the Porsche Macan S and Macan Turbo. In addition to utilizing eco-focused manufacturing methods and enhancing vehicle fuel economy through low rolling resistance, as designated by Michelin's Green X* branding, Latitude Sport 3 tires are designed to deliver world-class dry and wet road traction, handling and cornering. However, like all summer tires, they are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Latitude Sport 3 tires feature a new tread compound molded into an asymmetric design that offers an increased void ratio to improve wet grip compared to its predecessor. Variable thickness sipes reduce tread block deformation, which improves rolling resistance to enhance vehicle fuel economy.

The tire's internal structure includes two high-tensile, steel cord belts that are further reinforced by size-optimized, precisely placed individual aramid/nylon hybrid filaments that resist tire distortion to provide high-speed durability and enhanced ride quality.

Limited sizes of the Michelin Latitude Sport 3 are available with Michelin Acoustic Technology, which involves the manufacturer adhering a layer of sound-absorbing foam to the inner liner of the tire to reduce cabin noise in the vehicle. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results.

*Specific sizes featuring Green X technology are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

The Advantage T/A Sport LT is BFGoodrich's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire for drivers of light trucks, SUVs and crossover vehicles looking for handling and responsiveness to add some fun to the daily commute, combined with confidence in inclement weather. The Advantage T/A Sport LT meets the industry's severe snow service requirements and is branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Advantage T/A Sport LT tires feature an advanced, all-season tread compound molded into a symmetrical design, allowing easy cross rotation to resist irregular wear. The tire's continuous center rib creates constant contact with the road, and combined with the optimized footprint provided by the Next Generation ETEC (Equal TEnsion Containment) System, delivers confident handling and high speed stability. Utilizing full-depth tread features helps to deliver traction mile after mile while the wide, circumferential grooves efficiently channel water through the contact patch for increased hydroplaning resistance. 3D Active Sipe Technology sipes provide an increased number of biting edges for improved wet and light snow traction.

The tire's internal structure includes a two ply polyester body casing. Next Generation g-Wedge Sidewall Stabilizer inserts help control distortion during cornering, and two wide, steel belts with a spirally-wrapped nylon reinforcement deliver durability, ride quality and stability.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

Treadwear Performance

5.8
N/A

Treadwear is vital to many things, not just how often the tires need replacement. Hydroplaning and wet weather are both critical factors that wear down your tire quickly. The warranty covers any defects in what you bought but only for a limited period or when there's minimal tread left on them.

Wet Perfomance

9
9

The wet performance score is a new thing that tire manufacturers are trying to achieve. The hydroplaning resistance, wet traction, and steering response all influence this new grading system.

Hydroplaning Resistance
i

The hydroplaning resistance is measured by the hydroplane depth test and the dynamic aquaplaning test, which measures how much water can be accumulated on the tire's surface before hydroplaning occurs.

8.6
9.1
Wet Traction
i

Wet traction estimates the level of grip on wet pavement. Tread design with deep grooves dramatically improves confidence when driving in the rain as they channel the water out much better.

9.3
8.9
Steering Response
i

The vehicle's steering response largely depends on the tread depth, tire width, air pressure, and aspect ratio. Wide high-performance tires are equipped with a continuous center rib providing instant steering response.

9.7
9.2

Dry Perfomance

9.8
9.1

Tires with good dry performance should be able to perform smoothly and safely, even when cornering aggressively.

Cornering Stability
i

A dynamic cornering test is often used to assess cornering stability under dry conditions.

Dry Traction
i

Dry traction level depends on many factors, including tread design, profile shape, and compounds.

Steering Response
i

The vehicle's steering response largely depends on the tread depth, tire width, air pressure, and aspect ratio. Wide high-performance tires are equipped with a continuous center rib providing instant steering response.

Comfort Perfomance

8.4
8.9

The comfort performance score is designed to measure the balance between ride quality and noise level.

Ride Quality
i

The excellent ride quality means you do not feel the bumps or cracks on the road. Larger tires with thick and deep tread patterns decrease the number of jolts allowing you to glide over bumpy road textures.

8.4
8.9
Noise
i

If you would enjoy a quiet chat with the passengers while children are sleeping or listening to music, not the sound of tires, definitely pay attention to the noise score.

8.4
8.9

Winter Performance

N/A
8.7

Winter Performance score helps us understand if the tire is the appropriate option for winter conditions that your vehicle will face. Dedicated winter tires provide a firm grip when driving through snow and on ice. Performance winter tires boast a higher speed rating and better handling but deliver modestly lower ice and snow traction.

Light Snow Traction
i

Snow traction is the ability of a tire to push snow out of its path. When driving on packed snow, tires with good snow traction will help you accelerate and maintain control.

9.3
Deep Snow Traction
i

Deep Snow Traction test results compare how the tires deal with the deep snow. To successfully cope with the job, such tires should feature aggressive tread patterns, a tremendous amount of siping, and most elastic compounds.

8.7
Ice Traction
i

Ice traction tires feature ice grip and build friction when using the brakes or steering wheel to get through icy surfaces safely.

Size

Tire size may be indicated in two formats:
– metric (P255/45R18 103H)
– high flotation (30x9.5 R15 104 F C)
In the metric system, P - stands for the passenger vehicles (LT - for Light Trucks, ST - Special Trailer) with a width of 255 millimeters, aspect ratio (sidewall height) equal to 45% of the tire height. R means it is radially constructed with a diameter of 18 inches. 103 denotes the tire's load index and H determines the speed rating.
In the high flotation system, the first number (30) is the overall diameter of the tire, the second number (9.5) is the width in inches.

Max. load
i

The maximum weight that a tire can carry is the greatest amount of weight it's designed to bear. Because load carrying capability is dependent on a tire's size and construction, as well as how much air pressure is actually utilized, maximum loads are measured with the tire inflated to an industry standard inflation pressure.

The maximum speed that a tire with this type of tread can safely travel for an extended amount of time is indicated by the tire speed rating, which is usually shown by a letter or two.

The highest "cold" inflation pressure that a tire is meant to contain is its maximum inflation pressure.
