The WinterContact TS 860 S is Continental's Performance Winter / Snow tire developed for drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and performance sedans and homologated for use on the Porsche 911 and Taycan in the North American market. The WinterContact TS 860 S is designed to provide the handling and confident control demanded by high-performance vehicles in cold dry and wet conditions, in addition to in snow and on ice.

The tread compound of the WinterContact TS 860 S utilizes Continental's Cool Chili technology and is molded into an asymetric tread pattern. The compound's Flexible Polymer Matrix improves adhesion between the tire and the road for enhanced traction in all wintry conditions, and high performance resins help retain flexibility in winter temperatures. The 3D groove structure of the tire places grooves on the walls of the tread blocks, strengthening the interlock between the tire and packed snow in the grooves, thereby improving snow-to-snow traction, especially while turning. Specially designed sipe channels in the tread wick water vertically into the sipes, where it is then drained into larger grooves. This allows the WinterContact TS 860 S to remove the thin film of water that develops when friction melts ice or hard-packed snow at the tire contact patch, improving traction and reducing braking distances.

WinterContact TS 860 S winter / snow tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

The X-ICE SNOW SUV is Michelin&'s Light Truck/SUV Studless Ice ; Snow winter tire developed for drivers of vans, sport utility vehicles and light-duty pickups looking for confidence in winter's many different road conditions, throughout the life of the tire. Whether it's clear, cold winter roads; deep, heavy snow; or any icy condition in between, the X-ICE SNOW SUV is designed to deliver reassuring wintertime traction and stability.

The FleX-Ice; 2.0 compound of the X-ICE SNOW SUV utilizes inclusion technology, which generates micro-roughness on the tread surface, helping improve grip both in snow and on ice. The compound also contains a high silica content that ensures the tire maintains its flexibility, even in severe climates. This advanced compound is molded into a continuous V-Shape, directional tread pattern with increased groove widths compared to its predecessor, engineered to improve hydroplaning and slush performance, as well as increase the snow-to-snow traction needed for loose conditions. The X-ICE SNOW SUV's tread elements contain two types of full-depth sipes with complementary traction effects. Notched sipes provide numerous biting edges that help enhance traction in adverse conditions, along with variable thickness sipes that further aid traction while supporting the tread elements to maintain an efficient contact patch for control on packed snow and clear roads.

X-ICE SNOW SUV Light Truck/SUV Studless Ice & Snow tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Install Michelin X-ICE SNOW SUV tires in sets of four only.

Due to the traction capabilities of X-ICE SNOW SUV tires, Michelin recommends using them only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.

Treadwear Performance

N/A
N/A

Treadwear is vital to many things, not just how often the tires need replacement. Hydroplaning and wet weather are both critical factors that wear down your tire quickly. The warranty covers any defects in what you bought but only for a limited period or when there's minimal tread left on them.

Wet Perfomance

N/A
N/A

The wet performance score is a new thing that tire manufacturers are trying to achieve. The hydroplaning resistance, wet traction, and steering response all influence this new grading system.

Dry Perfomance

N/A
N/A

Tires with good dry performance should be able to perform smoothly and safely, even when cornering aggressively.

Comfort Perfomance

N/A
N/A

The comfort performance score is designed to measure the balance between ride quality and noise level.

Winter Performance

N/A
N/A

Winter Performance score helps us understand if the tire is the appropriate option for winter conditions that your vehicle will face. Dedicated winter tires provide a firm grip when driving through snow and on ice. Performance winter tires boast a higher speed rating and better handling but deliver modestly lower ice and snow traction.

Size
i

Tire size may be indicated in two formats:
– metric (P255/45R18 103H)
– high flotation (30x9.5 R15 104 F C)
In the metric system, P - stands for the passenger vehicles (LT - for Light Trucks, ST - Special Trailer) with a width of 255 millimeters, aspect ratio (sidewall height) equal to 45% of the tire height. R means it is radially constructed with a diameter of 18 inches. 103 denotes the tire's load index and H determines the speed rating.
In the high flotation system, the first number (30) is the overall diameter of the tire, the second number (9.5) is the width in inches.

Max. load
i

The maximum weight that a tire can carry is the greatest amount of weight it's designed to bear. Because load carrying capability is dependent on a tire's size and construction, as well as how much air pressure is actually utilized, maximum loads are measured with the tire inflated to an industry standard inflation pressure.

Max. speed

The maximum speed that a tire with this type of tread can safely travel for an extended amount of time is indicated by the tire speed rating, which is usually shown by a letter or two.
